Celebrate the Small Things

Celebrate the Small Things is a weekly bloghop now hosted by Lexa Cain . The idea is to post anything you want to celebrate from the last week, no matter how small. This week I'm celebrating: - Reaching 500 posts on my blog - that's a lot of blogging! - I signed up for the A to Z challenge on Monday - I was unsure whether I was going to participate or not, but I've done it every year since I started blogging, so I couldn't stop now! - Jamie and I have been together for 6 years this week. - I got an unexpected day off work on Wednesday, which was nice. I also have the full weekend off, and plan to spend a lot of time baking.

New Years Resolutions

I realise that I'm pretty late in getting these up, but they're part of my new found motivation. So, my new years resolutions for this year are as follows: - Read 50 books - once again I've set up a Goodreads reading challenge to read 50 books. I only made it to 43 last year, and I'm determined to hit my goal this year. I'm on track so far, so hopefully this year I manage to reach my goal. - Bake more - I'm going to aim to bake once a week. I love baking, and I got a couple of new recipe books for Christmas, so there are a lot of new recipes I want to try out. - Eat more healthily - I realise this is a very popular resolution, but it's also an important one. I haven't been eating healthily at all lately, and I want that to change. I love to cook, I just need to plan my time better. - Go to the gym - Again, I know this is a popular one, but it goes hand in hand with my eating healthier. The only exercise I get is walking at work (which I do a lot

This week I'm celebrating: - I saw my friends from university last weekend. We only see each other once every few months, so it was great to see them.  - I feel a lot more motivated this week than I have in a while. I have a lot of plans for my blog; lately all I've been doing is this celebrate post, but I'm determined to get back into blogging properly again.  - I made cupcakes yesterday - it's the first thing I've baked since making my Christmas fruit cake in November, so I'm happy about that. I've missed baking! Also, they're delicious!

This week I'm celebrating:  - Having a week off work! I've spent the week on holiday at Centerparcs with Jamie, my sister Katie and her fiance Lewis. It's been a great week. - I've tried a lot of new things this week, paint-balling and quad biking being the biggest two. I've got some massive bruises now, but it was worth it! I also took part in some old favourites, like going to the spa with Katie, and lots of swimming. I finished two books and got halfway through a third, so it was a good week for reading, too.  - My mum looked after my house (and my cat) while I was away, and when I got back today I discovered that she's spent the week tidying and improving my house - I now have a bookshelf for the many stacks of books that were dotted around, a coffee table in my living room and

I'm probably gonna put up my annual new years resolutions post sometime next week. So, onto the celebrations: - I have three days off starting from today! This is super exciting, since Tuesday was the only day off I had since Christmas day, and I worked nine days in a row before that. I'm ready for the time off! Then, I only have to work four days then I'm off for nine days. A good start to the new year!  - I'm going to my Dad's later on today, since I didn't get to see him over Christmas. My sister is also going to be there after she finishes work, and since I didn't get to see her either, I'm looking forward to it.  - New year, new start! Everything's been so chaotic lately that I'm looking forward to getting my life in order again.
